About Sherwood (Qld)
Sherwood is a historic suburb of Brisbane, about 8 km south-west of the CBD along the Brisbane River. Its railway station opened in 1874 and its state school in 1867, while the heritage-listed Sherwood Arboretum preserves a riverside stand of native trees; the area is known for its Queenslander homes and village-style shopping strip.
