About Fig Tree Pocket
Fig Tree Pocket is a riverside western suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, set in a bend of the Brisbane River about 13 km south-west of the city centre. It takes its name from the Moreton Bay fig trees that once grew there. The suburb is home to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, established in 1927 and the oldest and largest koala sanctuary in the world.
