About Jindalee (Qld)
Jindalee is a south-western residential suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, located approximately 15 kilometres south-west of the Brisbane CBD. The name derives from an Aboriginal word meaning "bare hills" and was adopted when planning commenced in 1959, the year of Queensland's centenary. Part of the Centenary Suburbs, Jindalee is bordered by the Brisbane River to the north and traversed by the Centenary Motorway via the Centenary Bridge. Developed from former grazing land as part of the Hooker Centenary Project from 1960, the suburb features the Jindalee Golf Course and a riverside park with a public boat ramp.
