About Kenmore
Kenmore is a leafy residential suburb in Brisbane's western corridor, about 11 km southwest of the CBD, bounded by the Brisbane River to the south and Moggill Creek to the west. Named after Kenmore in Perthshire, Scotland by a settler around 1880, the area was farmland until residential subdivision began in the 1950s. Notable landmarks include the heritage-listed Kenmore War Memorial and the Kenmore Uniting Church, whose 1968 modern design by Robin Gibson won RAIA Building of the Year.
