About Jamboree Heights

Jamboree Heights is a south-western residential suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, located approximately 16 kilometres south-west of the Brisbane CBD. The suburb was named on 1 July 1969 after the eighth Australian Scout Jamboree held at nearby Larapinta in December 1967 and January 1968. Originally part of the 3,000-acre Wolston Estate offered at auction in 1901, the area was developed as part of Hooker's Centenary Project from 1959. Jamboree Heights is bounded by the Centenary Motorway and Sumners Road, and includes a police beat, fire station and ambulance station.
