About Drewvale
Drewvale is a residential suburb located approximately 26 kilometres south of the Brisbane CBD, situated at the interchange of the Gateway and Logan Motorways on Brisbane's southern border with Logan City. The area was farmed by the Drew family from the 1870s, and the locality was known by that name for nearly a century before being officially designated Drewvale by the Queensland Place Names Board on 1 November 1971. Despite being one of Brisbane's southernmost suburbs, it contains the city's southernmost residential properties, as neighbouring suburbs of Parkinson, Larapinta, and Heathwood have only industrial and commercial development in their southern extents. The motorway interchange divides the suburb into residential areas and undeveloped land, with green corridors connecting Karawatha Forest to the Parkinson Bushland.
