About Coorparoo
Coorparoo is an inner suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, located 6 kilometres southeast of the CBD. Named after an Aboriginal term likely referring to Norman Creek, the area was first settled after a bridge over the creek was built in 1856 and was formally named Coorparoo at a public meeting in 1875. It features heritage sites including the 1892 Shire Hall and Loreto College, established in 1928.
