About Annerley
Annerley is an inner-city suburb in Brisbane, Queensland, situated approximately 6 kilometres south of the central business district and centred on the intersection of Ipswich Road and Annerley Road known as Annerley Junction. The suburb features a mix of Victorian and Edwardian Queenslanders, heritage churches and a gentrified residential character, with Rathdowne Street forming the main commercial strip. Annerley is home to several heritage-listed buildings including Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, a French Gothic landmark with an octagonal copper spire, and the Annerley Library designed by architect James Birrell in 1957.
