About Nudgee

Nudgee is a north-eastern suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, located 17.6 km from the CBD. Its name derives from the Yuggera word nardha or nedgee, meaning place of ducks. The suburb is home to the 36-hole Nudgee Golf Club, the Nudgee Waterhole Reserve, and a significant Aboriginal bora ring. St Vincent's Orphanage operated on Queens Road from 1866 to 1971, housing over 10,500 children during its history. Nudgee Cemetery, established in 1867, also lies within the suburb.
