About Port Of Brisbane
Port of Brisbane is the main shipping port and a coastal suburb of the City of Brisbane, at the mouth of the Brisbane River on Fisherman Islands. Brisbane was declared a port of entry in 1846, and shipping was handled along the river for more than a century before a deepwater port was developed at Fisherman Islands from the 1970s by the Port of Brisbane Authority.
