About Wynnum
Wynnum is a coastal suburb in the City of Brisbane, about 19.6 km east of the central business district on the shores of Moreton Bay, and a popular bayside destination for its jetty, tidal wading pool and man-made Pandanus Beach. The name is thought to derive from an Aboriginal word for the pandanus palm, and Aboriginal connection to the area stretches back over 25,000 years. Wynnum grew rapidly after the railway arrived in the late 1880s and retains many heritage-listed buildings.
