About Yarrawonga (NT)
Yarrawonga is an outer northern suburb of Palmerston in the Northern Territory, on the traditional Country of the Larrakia people. Located 21 kilometres south-east of Darwin City and 2 kilometres from Palmerston City, it is one of Palmerston's industrial suburbs. The area was named after the Yarrawonga Park Zoo established by Dr Alex McKenzie in 1965 on the site now occupied by McKenzie Place.
