About Driver
Driver is an inner-city suburb of Palmerston in the Northern Territory, located 23 kilometres south-east of Darwin CBD and less than two kilometres from the Palmerston centre. Established in the 1990s and named after Arthur Driver, Administrator of the Northern Territory from 1946 to 1951, the suburb is part of the City of Palmerston local government area. Fry Court is named after Charles Fry, a teamster who arrived with George Goyder's 1869 survey expedition and drowned when the SS Gothenburg sank in 1875. Driver had a population of 2,884 at the 2016 census.
