About Weston (NSW)
Weston is a former coal-mining town in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, about 11 km from Cessnock. It began in the early 20th century as a private township on the estate of James Weston, and grew rapidly around the Hebburn Colliery, drawing coal miners and their families from the north of England. Weston's post office opened in 1904.
