About Neath
Neath is a village in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Australia, west of Newcastle on Cessnock Road between Cessnock and Abermain. It grew as a coal-mining settlement after the Neath Colliery opened in 1906; the mine closed in 1951 and the passenger railway that served the village was later withdrawn. The village is surrounded by bushland, including the nearby Werakata National Park.
