About Ambergate
Ambergate is a semi-rural suburb of Busselton in the South West region of Western Australia, about 8 kilometres south of the town centre. It began in the 1920s as Group 44 of the Group Settlement Scheme, when migrant settlers camped on the land before clearing it to establish dairy farms, and was probably named after a town in Derbyshire, England. A school operated from 1924 to 1941, and the community hall, also used as a school, dates from 1935.
