About Vasse
Vasse is a developing suburb of the City of Busselton in the South West region of Western Australia, located 10 kilometres west of Busselton and 240 kilometres south-west of Perth. Named after the Vasse River and Vasse Estuary, both named after French seaman Thomas Vasse who disappeared in the area in June 1801 during Nicolas Baudin's expedition, the area was originally inhabited by the Wardandi people. The townsite was gazetted in 1927, previously known as Newtown. Housing estates were established from 2004 onward.
