About Westmere
Westmere is a rural locality in the Rural City of Ararat in south-west Victoria, about 215 kilometres west of Melbourne. The district lies on the wheat-growing plains of western Victoria, and the railway station, now a signalled crossing loop, still has grain silos from the Victorian Grain Elevators Board bulk-handling program of the 1930s and 1940s.
