About Rich Avon
Rich Avon is a sparsely populated rural locality in north-western Victoria, near the town of Donald. The name comes from the Rich Avon pastoral run, first leased in 1845 by James Horsfall, which carried 2,400 cattle and 15,000 sheep before being divided into Rich Avon East and West. After the First World War it was opened for soldier settlement, and remains broad-acre farming country.
