About Longerenong

Longerenong is a locality in the Wimmera region of western Victoria, within the Rural City of Horsham and the Shire of Yarriambiack. Its name comes from a Jardwadjali word meaning 'the dividing of the waters', near where the Wimmera River splits to form the Yarriambiack Creek. The district is home to Longerenong College, one of Victoria's oldest agricultural colleges, established on a former pastoral run in 1889.
