About Donald

Donald is a town in north-western Victoria on the Richardson River, at the junction of the Sunraysia and Borung highways in the Shire of Buloke. It grew from the Banyenong pastoral run taken up by the Donald brothers in 1844 and was surveyed and named in 1866. A service centre for the surrounding wheat, barley and lamb district, it is known as the Home of the Duck for the waterbirds on nearby Lake Buloke.
