About Carwarp
Carwarp is a rural locality in the Mallee region of north-west Victoria, on the Calder Highway about 30 kilometres south of Mildura, on the railway line into the city. The name is thought to derive from an Aboriginal word describing a crow or the call of a crow. The area was surveyed for closer-settlement farms in 1911, and a post office operated from 1913 until 1992. Carwarp is the site of the Mildura Solar Concentrator Power Station and an almond-processing factory.
