About Cardross

Cardross is a rural village in the Rural City of Mildura in north-western Victoria, about 15 kilometres south of Mildura. It grew out of the soldier-settlement farming community at nearby Red Cliffs after World War I, when residents pushed for a school and small township in 1923, and is named after Cardross near Glasgow in Scotland. The village is the centre of an irrigated district growing grapes, mainly for dried fruit, and orchards, and has a school, hall, reserve and general store.
