About Cabarita (Vic.)
Cabarita is a suburb of Mildura in the Mallee region of Victoria, located about 10 kilometres south-west of Mildura's central business district. The post office opened in 1925, initially known as Lake Hawthorn before being renamed Cabarita. The area sits within the Rural City of Mildura and is surrounded by the irrigated horticulture that defines the Sunraysia region, with vineyards and citrus orchards extending across the flat riverine landscape.
