About Catani

Catani is a farming locality in the Shire of Cardinia, Victoria, approximately 72 kilometres south-east of Melbourne. Named after Carlo Catani, the chief engineer responsible for draining the Koo-Wee-Rup Swamp, the town grew around the Koo-Wee-Rup to Strzelecki railway station which operated from 1922 to 1950.
