About Yarra Glen

Yarra Glen is a town in the Yarra Valley, about 55 km north-east of Melbourne, in the Shire of Yarra Ranges. The district was renamed Yarra Glen in the 1890s and lies in Victoria's oldest wine-growing region, where vines were first planted at Yering Station in 1838. The town is also known for its racecourse, which began at nearby Brushy Creek in 1858.
