About Parkdale
Parkdale is a bayside suburb of Melbourne about 23 km south-east of the central city, on Port Phillip Bay in the City of Kingston, between Mentone and Mordialloc on the Frankston railway line. The suburb grew up after a railway station named for the early landowner William Parker opened in 1920. Its foreshore, Parkdale Beach, is a long stretch of calm, sheltered bay shore with grassed high ground, a kiosk and the Parkdale Yacht Club, about a ten-minute walk from the station.
