About Tallandoon
Tallandoon is a small rural locality in the Shire of Towong, set in the Mitta Valley along the Omeo Highway approximately 30 kilometres south of Tallangatta. Situated near the Mitta Mitta River in the foothills of the Victorian Alps, the area has a gold-mining history from the 1850s and draws anglers to the river for trout, cod and yellowbelly fishing.
