About Murrindindi

Murrindindi is a locality in the valley of the Murrindindi River in the Shire of Murrindindi in central Victoria, about 101 km north-east of Melbourne and 17 km south-east of Yea. Its name is said to mean mountain home in the Wurundjeri language. Farming and timber have long been the district's main industries, and the Murrindindi Scenic Reserve along the river offers camping, bushwalking, fishing and waterfalls such as Wilhelmina Falls.
