About Gherang

Gherang is a locality in the Surf Coast Shire of Victoria, about 29 kilometres south-west of Geelong, on the northern edge of the Great Otway National Park and the Anglesea Heath. Traditionally home to the Gadubanud Aboriginal people, the area is mostly farmland with some rural-residential subdivision. Gravel quarries in the locality have supplied road-building material, and a station on the Wensleydale railway line, opened in 1890, saw little traffic.
