About Sebastian

Sebastian is a rural locality on the Bendigo to Swan Hill railway line in central Victoria, located 22 kilometres north of Bendigo and 7 kilometres south of Raywood. Named after Sebastian Schmidt who discovered gold there in May 1863, the town marked the beginning of gold-bearing country extending northward through the Loddon Valley.
