About Nuggetty
Nuggetty is a rural locality in the Shire of Mount Alexander, lying within the Nuggetty Range near the historic goldfields town of Maldon. The area takes its name from the Nuggetty Reef, one of the richest gold mines of the Victorian Gold Rush, which produced over 300,000 ounces of gold from high-grade quartz workings discovered in the 1850s. Walking trails through the surrounding range pass relics of the mining era with views toward Mount Tarrengower.
