About Harcourt
Harcourt is a town in the Central Highlands of Victoria, about 8 kilometres north-east of Castlemaine, where the Midland Highway meets the Calder Highway at the foot of Mount Alexander. Once the premier apple-growing region in Australia, Harcourt remains the apple centre of Victoria and is increasingly known for wine and cider production. Each March it hosts the Harcourt Applefest, its granite has been used in memorials and historic buildings around Australia, and the walking tracks of Mount Alexander Regional Park lie nearby.
