About Ravenswood South
Ravenswood South is a rural locality in the Mount Alexander Shire, south of Bendigo along the Calder Highway corridor. The area was historically associated with the goldfields and early pastoral settlement, with the Ravenswood Run taken up in the 1840s and a school established at South Ravenswood in 1875. Irrigated orchards and the heritage-listed Ravenswood Homestead and railway precinct are notable features of the district.
