About Mount Hooghly
Mount Hooghly is a locality near Dunolly in Victoria's Central Goldfields. The name comes from an immigrant ship that brought gold seekers during the 1850s gold rush. Granite outcrops occur in the area and it is part of the historic Victorian Goldfields, a significant gold mining district.
