About Windera (Qld)
Windera is a town in the South Burnett Region of Queensland, with part of its locality extending into the neighbouring Gympie Region. A railway branch line from Barlil to Windera opened in March 1925 after years of agitation by district farmers. The locality is among those downstream of Bjelke-Petersen Dam, which supplies water to Murgon and Cherbourg.
