About Theebine
Theebine is a rural town and locality in Queensland, split between the Gympie Region and the Fraser Coast Region, about 215 km north of Brisbane. The town was established to service the railway junction where the Kingaroy line branched from the North Coast line. Formerly called Kilkivan Junction, it was renamed Theebine in 1910 after a Waka language word for the lungfish; the branch line closed in 2010.
