About Scarness
Scarness is the historic recreational heart of Hervey Bay in the Fraser Coast Region, Queensland. Holidaymakers first arrived by rail to the Scarness railway station from 1896, and the area grew around the original Scarborough Hotel. The Pacific Palais, built in 1954, and the foreshore pier remain landmarks of its heritage as a classic Australian seaside resort.
