About Monto
Monto is a rural town and locality in the North Burnett Region of Queensland, Australia, located 484 kilometres north-west of Brisbane. Established in 1924 as a soldier settlement town, its name derives from an Aboriginal word meaning "ridgy plain". It serves as a service centre for cattle grazing and stone fruit orchards in the surrounding agricultural district.
