About Mulgildie
Mulgildie is a rural town on the Burnett Highway in the North Burnett region of Queensland, about 12 km south of Monto. Settled in the mid-1920s when the Upper Burnett district was opened for closer settlement, the name comes from an Aboriginal word for a deep waterhole on Three Moon Creek. Dairying flourished through the 1930s, later giving way to beef cattle.
