About Dundowran Beach
Dundowran Beach is a coastal suburb in the Fraser Coast Region of Queensland, located within the Hervey Bay area, 9.8 kilometres west of Pialba and 293 kilometres north of Brisbane. Bounded by Hervey Bay to the north with a long sandy beach, the suburb is predominantly residential in the west with agricultural land to the east growing crops and grazing on native vegetation. Hervey Bay is known as a premier whale watching destination and the gateway to K'gari, formerly Fraser Island. The suburb is part of the Maryborough state electoral district and the federal Division of Hinkler.
