About Cinnabar

Cinnabar is a rural locality in the Gympie Region of south-east Queensland, named after the cinnabar mineral from which mercury was once mined in the 1870s. The Wide Bay Highway passes through the area, which features rolling pastoral country and the Cinnabar State Forest. The Breezer mountain rises to 466 metres in the south-west, and the Kilkivan to Kingaroy Rail Trail runs through the locality.
