About Burnett Heads
Burnett Heads is a coastal town and locality at the mouth of the Burnett River on the Coral Sea in the Bundaberg Region, Queensland, located 17 kilometres north-east of Bundaberg and 374 kilometres north of Brisbane. The most notable feature is the historic timber Old Burnett Heads Light from 1873, restored and moved to a local park with its original Fresnel lens. The Port of Bundaberg, operated by Gladstone Ports Corporation, has Sir Thomas Hiley Wharf and John T. Fisher Wharf. The suburb hosts an annual Lighthouse Festival on the last Saturday in October.
