About Qunaba
Qunaba is a rural locality in the Bundaberg Region of Queensland, located about 10 kilometres east-northeast of Bundaberg on the fertile volcanic soils of the Woongarra Scrub. The name derives from the Queensland National Bank, which acquired the local sugar mill around 1900, and the area is dominated by sugarcane farming. Sloping Hummock, an extinct volcano remnant and the highest point east of Bundaberg, rises within the locality and features a heritage-listed lookout platform and the Bert Hinkler memorial.
