About Bundaberg North

Bundaberg North is a suburb of Bundaberg on the north bank of the Burnett River, opposite the city centre, in the Wide Bay region of Queensland. It was the site of Bundaberg's earliest European settlement, with sawmills established from the 1860s to serve the growing port. The suburb grew around industry including the Bundaberg Foundry, where aviator Bert Hinkler took his first job in 1907, and the Millaquin sugar mill, and today it is a residential area with shops, the Hinkler Aviation Museum and riverside parklands.
