About Bancroft
Bancroft is a rural locality in the North Burnett Region, situated on the Burnett Highway corridor between Monto and Eidsvold. Named in 1929 after Dr Thomas Lane Bancroft, a physician and scientist who lived in the district from 1910 to 1930, the area developed around the Gladstone-to-Monto railway line and is characterised by open grazing land and remnant bushland.
