About Kalpowar
Kalpowar is a town in the North Burnett Region of Queensland, with its locality extending into the Bundaberg Region. The name, assigned to the railway station in 1928, is an Aboriginal word meaning either pine tree or copper, and the settlement grew out of camps that built the Gladstone to Monto railway line.
