About Seventy Mile
Seventy Mile is a vast remote locality in the Charters Towers Region of north Queensland, about 108 kilometres south of Charters Towers. The locality is bounded by Lake Dalrymple on the Burdekin Dam, and the Mount Leyshon gold mine once operated in the region among tropical savanna and grazing country.
