Mount Stuart is a largely uninhabited mountainous locality dominated by the 584-metre peak of Mount Stuart, which overlooks Townsville and hosts major telecommunications towers. The locality encompasses the Mount Stuart Training Area used by the Australian Army, adjacent to Lavarack Barracks, with the Ross River and Lake Ross forming its western boundaries.
