About Kelso (Qld)
Kelso is a residential suburb of Townsville, 20 kilometres south-west of the CBD along Riverway Drive. Named after Scottish settlers Mary and James Kelso, the area was once the Laudham Park cattle station, partly resumed for the Ross River Dam in the 1970s.
